What are the different type of alarms?

It is no secret that crime is going up in Bakersfield. Every day we hear of people getting their windows of their car smashed and their stereo’s stolen. Some people think they had an alarm on their car only to find out they forgot to activate it, it was keyless entry only, or they didn’t hear the alarm.

A quick tutorial on car alarms:

Keyless Entry
A keyless entry is the ability to push a button and your car unlocks. There is no alarm on these. If your window gets smashed, no alarm will go off.

One Way Alarm
This is the cheapest type of alarm. If something activates your alarm, a siren or your horn will sound alerting passerbys.

Two Way (Pager) Alarms
A two way pager alarm is a type of alarm that when activated, you get notified by the FOB on your keychain. It lets you know that something is happening to your vehicle. (And if you lose your keys, you can set off your alarm to find the keys).

Remote Start
This allows you to start your car remotely. It also lets you keep your car running while you are away from it without leaving the keys in it. With a remote start, you can warm or cool down your car before getting in it.
